The One Anti-Inflammatory Vitamin That Basically Shrinks Your Waistline, According To Nutritionists

One of the best ways to kickstart fat and weight loss is by incorporating supplements like vitamins into your daily regimen. It’s always best to get vitamins from the foods you eat, but there may be circumstances in which a supplement becomes a necessary component in a balance, healthy diet.

This is the one anti-inflammatory vitamin that basically shrinks your waistline, according to nutritionists.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble nutrient that has been shown in studies to have a link to weight loss.

The evidence is still a bit scattered, but as of now there is some proof that people who have a higher BMI and body fat percentage also have lower blood levels of vitamin D.

According to Healthline, some evidence shows that increasing the amount of vitamin D you consume can help you lose weight.

There’s also a strange link between the amount of vitamin D your body needs as you lose or gain weight. And weight loss can actually increase your vitamin D levels.

“One study found that even small amounts of weight loss led to a modest increase in blood levels of vitamin D,” reports Healthline. “Furthermore, participants who lost at least 15% of their body weight experienced increases that were nearly three times greater than those seen in participants who lost 5–10% of their body weight.”

There are a few different ways to get your daily recommended intake of vitamin D. Hanging out outside on a sunny day is one way — but considering the risk posed by UV rays, this option is becoming less popular.

In addition to taking a supplement, some of the best food sources for vitamin D include salmon and other fatty fish, dairy foods like cheese and milk, mushrooms, and egg yolks.

Before you pay a ton of money on fancy supplements, you may just need one natural vitamin in your diet — vitamin D.
