Many successful people wind up feeling guilty about «having it all» and not feeling conventionally happy, according to Dr. Samantha Boardman, psychiatrist and positive psychology expert. Through her private practice, she has found that feelings of personal success are actually more aligned to the connections we create and foster in our lives, specifically altruistic ones. Hear more about the psychology of success in her interview with mindbodygreen founder and CEO Jason Wachob.
Dr. Boardman’s practice changed forever after a former patient shared that their sessions made her feel worse, not better. It was in that moment that Dr. Boardman was inspired to get her master’s (in addition to her M.D.) in positive psychology, which is what she’s been practicing ever since. Her protocol, Positive Prescription, focuses on building resilience and life-enhancing change.
